7:42 pm	"Experinece vs Talent" on the Web Two researchers investigated Web structure by crawling about 22 000 000 pages every month for a year. For every page every month they calculated its page rank. Interestingly, a lot of websites with high page rank by the end of the experiment had it pretty low in the beginning of the experiment. These were the new pages with quality content that were able to boost over the year. Some of the top pages even did not exist. This open a discussion of Web as a socially regulated information infrastructure where experience (old pages) and talent (new pages) compete on the regular and fair basis. 3:31 pm	Tim Berners-Lee about the future evolution of the Web Tim Berners-Lee spoke about several critical issues on the Web: - Web is the media, which can be very efficient at disseminating false knowledge, fears, cult's visions etc. Tim proposes to rate the web-site based on the trustworthiness - Web is still accessed by only 20% of the people on Earth. New Web-interfaces should be designed and more support for mobile Web-access should be provided to open it for new audiences. - Web is supposed to be free, not influenced by large corporations, special interests or biased authorities. Freedom on the Web must be preserved. Hm... in a way, this contradicts the first point: it can be either free or moderated... anyway.
